Yard Act is a post-punk band from Leeds, UK, formed in 2019, consisting of vocalist James Smith, guitarist Sam Shipstone, bassist Ryan Needham, and drummer Jay Russell. Known for Smith's deadpan spoken-word delivery and sharp social commentary set against angular, propulsive rhythm tracks, they debuted with the acclaimed album The Overload (2022) and have become one of the most distinctive voices in British indie rock.
