Virtua dx is a shoegaze project whose sound layers dense, distorted guitar textures with hazy vocals in the tradition of 1990s British and American shoegaze. Performing on bills with similarly-styled acts at O'Brien's Pub in Allston — a longstanding home for indie and alternative music in Boston — the project fits squarely within the city's underground guitar music scene.
