Twice-A-Day Ray is a hard-edged Boston four-piece whose members work in emergency medicine by day. The band grew out of a one-off night of music between three ER doctors — Mike Murphy on drums, Todd Thomsen on bass and Colin Devonshire on guitar — and took shape when emergency-medicine PA Kayla Carnell turned out to be able to sing. They play Boston clubs regularly, reworking old favorites and forgotten gems louder, in the spirit of Me First and the Gimme Gimmes and the Lemonheads.
