Tony Flackett is a Cambridge multimedia artist who spent more than twenty-five years making instrumental electronic music as DJ Flack before returning to guitar for a one-person-band singer-songwriter project under his own name. He played in the local art-punk trio Soothing Sounds For Baby from 1985 to 1998. Live he pairs guitar and vocals with a Casio drum machine, a vocal harmonizer and an eighties Omnichord, writing short songs that borrow from country, punk, folk and hip-hop and lyrics that read as wry essays on unlikely subjects.
