The Troggs were an English rock band from Andover, Hampshire, formed in 1964, whose 1966 #1 hit "Wild Thing" — with its raw, primitive riff and famous ocarina solo — became a blueprint for garage rock and punk. The band also scored with "With a Girl Like You" and "Love Is All Around," and their deliberately crude, caveman-rock style earned them legendary status as proto-punk forebears.
