The Slackademics are a Boston-based indie-ska band — five self-described "painfully over-educated musicians hell-bent on letting their fancy conservatory training go to waste" — who blend brass-forward ska with pop and rock influences they call "7th-wave" ska. Their debut LP Pass/Fail follows the Skip Class EP and showcases songwriting that is as playful as it is musically tight.
