The Romantics are a Detroit power-pop and new wave band best known for the 1980s anthems "Talking in Your Sleep" and "What I Like About You," which have become staples of classic rock radio, movie soundtracks, and sports arenas. Formed in 1977, the band helped bridge the gap between punk energy and pop melody with their leather-clad, guitar-driven sound.
