The George Garzone Quartet

The George Garzone Quartet has no upcoming Boston-area shows listed. They last played October 24, 2026 at The Mad Monkfish.

Tenor saxophonist George Garzone leads a quartet in the John Coltrane line: big-toned, harmonically restless post-bop played with real fire. A Boston institution and founding member of the trio The Fringe, he developed the triadic chromatic approach and has taught players like Joshua Redman, Branford Marsalis, Mark Turner and Donny McCaslin. Michael Brecker once said, "I'm not the master of the sax, George Garzone is."
