Georg Philipp Telemann (1681–1767) was a German Baroque composer, one of the most prolific in history, whose sacred cantatas, orchestral suites, and chamber works were enormously popular in his lifetime. His music combines German counterpoint with French and Italian influences, making it accessible and expressive.
