Souq El-Jum3a Collective is a Boston-area trio blending Middle Eastern and jazz traditions through an unconventional lineup of oud, keys, and trombone. Members Bahloul, Araki, and Khalid bridge Arabic musical roots with improvisational and contemporary jazz sensibilities, creating a genre-crossing sound that feels both rooted and experimental. Their instrumentation alone signals adventurous intent — the oud's ancient resonance rubbing against the trombone's brassy swing.
