Sleep is an American stoner/doom metal band formed in California in 1990, led by guitarist Matt Pike and bassist/vocalist Al Cisneros. Known for the sprawling, riff-heavy album Dopesmoker and for pioneering the modern stoner-doom sound, the band remains highly influential in heavy music.
