Sister Sledge is the Philadelphia soul group formed in 1971 by sisters Debbie, Joni, Kim, and Kathy Sledge. Produced by Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards of Chic, they recorded their signature anthems 'We Are Family' and 'He's the Greatest Dancer' in 1979, cementing their place in disco and R&B history. Their joyful, dance-floor-ready sound has made 'We Are Family' one of the most enduring pop songs ever recorded.
