Sex Mex is a San Antonio punk band whose attack is weirder and more abrasive than the name suggests. Staccato synths, distorted organ bass and industrial-tinged percussion back caustic, confrontational vocals, closer to no wave and art-damaged punk than three-chord punk. They are a cult act with a regional following built on provocative live shows.
