Ryan Castro is a Colombian singer and rapper from the Pedregal barrio in northern Medellin who turned street performing and bus busking into one of reggaeton's biggest recent breakouts. His sound folds dancehall, champeta, and Afro-Caribbean rhythms into urbano, a nod to the coastal music he grew up around. Hits like Jordan, Mujeriego, and Quema pushed him onto international festival stages, and he still bills himself as El Cantante del Ghetto.
