Roomful of Teeth is a Grammy-winning vocal ensemble founded in 2009 at Mass MoCA in North Adams, Massachusetts, to expand what a trained singing voice can do. The group studies techniques from well outside the Western concert tradition, including Tuvan throat singing, yodeling, Korean p'ansori, and Sardinian cantu a tenore, then commissions composers to write for the result. Caroline Shaw wrote her Pulitzer-winning Partita for 8 Voices for the ensemble.
