Pyramus & Thisbe: A Mock-Opera

Pyramus and Thisbe is a comic "mock-opera" composed by John Frederick Lampe in 1745, setting the story of the ill-fated lovers as performed (badly, on purpose) by the "rude mechanicals" in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. The Boston Early Music Festival presents the work at Jordan Hall, led by BEMF music directors Paul O'Dette and Stephen Stubbs with concertmaster Robert Mealy, staged and choreographed by Marie-Nathalie Lacoursière.
