Nell McKay is a British-American singer-songwriter who refuses to be pinned down — she's tackled Brecht on Broadway, opened for Lou Reed at Carnegie Hall, and released records swinging between jazz-pop satire, vaudeville, and pointed political commentary. Born in London in 1982 and raised in New York, her debut double album 'Get Away from Me' announced a genuine eccentric, drawing comparisons to a sharper, stranger Doris Day.
