Mr. Phylzzz is a Chicago guitar-and-drums duo who make a genuinely ugly, genuinely funny kind of noise rock: sludge-caked riffs, deadpan yelps, and songs that lurch rather than groove. Their run of records for Amphetamine Reptile put them squarely in that label's lineage of loud, sardonic two-pieces.
