Melanie Martinez (born April 28, 1995) is an American singer-songwriter, director, and visual artist who first gained attention on The Voice in 2012. She built a devoted following with her conceptual, theatrical pop—most notably the Cry Baby and Portals eras—pairing dark, doll-like aesthetics with confessional, genre-blurring songwriting.
