Lee Bains III

Lee Bains III is a songwriter and guitarist from Birmingham, Alabama, who fronts Lee Bains III and the Glory Fires, a band that runs Southern rock through a hardcore punk engine and uses it to argue with the South about itself. There Is a Bomb in Gilead (2012) introduced the sound; Dereconstructed (2014) and Youth Detention (2017) pushed it louder and more explicitly political, taking on race, class, and religion in the region he keeps writing about. Solo or with the band, the shows are loud, sweaty, and unusually talkative.
