Las Guaracheras is an all-female salsa sextet that formed in California in 2017. The ensemble honors salsa's deep historical roots while bringing a modern sensibility to their performances, with improvisation playing a central role so each musician can showcase her individual voice. Their sound draws on electrocumbia and timba alongside classic salsa, and they have performed at prestigious venues including the Museum of Fine Arts Boston's Concerts in the Courtyard series.
