Kingsley Flood is a Boston band fronted by songwriter Naseem Khuri that draws as much from the Clash as from the Band. Live it swings between late-70s punk energy and four-part folk harmonies, sometimes inside the same song, and the writing keeps circling identity, outsiderness, and who gets counted as American. Dust Windows (2010) and Battles (2013) built the following; NPR named "I Don't Wanna Go Home" a Song of the Day, and the New Yorker called the band a modern brand of Americana.
