Keila Wakao is a violinist from Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, who began playing at age three and studied with former Boston Symphony concertmaster Joseph Silverstein and later Donald Weilerstein. She now studies at New England Conservatory under Miriam Fried on a full scholarship, and won first prize in the 2021 Menuhin International Violin Competition Junior Division.
