The Jon Burr Duo is a small-group setting for the bassist, composer and arranger Jon Burr. Born in Huntington, New York in 1953, Burr is a mainstay of the New York jazz scene who has toured and recorded with Stan Getz, Buddy Rich, Chet Baker, Horace Silver and Art Farmer, and played in Mark O'Connor's Hot Swing Trio alongside Frank Vignola. He leads his own quintet and big band and has written books on bass playing and improvisation.
