John Abernathy is a Rhode Island cabaret singer and actor who appeared in the 16th Annual New York Cabaret Convention at Lincoln Center in a Jerry Herman tribute, sharing the bill with Michael Feinstein, Marilyn Maye, Lee Roy Reams and Herman himself. That same year his Boston show A Cock-Eyed Optimist drew an IRNE nomination for best male cabaret performer. He has toured internationally as pianist and soloist with Up With People and released the albums Look Straight Ahead and Live Out Loud!
