Boston altoist Jim Hobbs has led the Fully Celebrated Orchestra since founding it with bassist Timo Shanko in 1987, playing free jazz in the city's punk clubs and street corners long before that was fashionable. In trio form he works with Shanko and drummer Django Carranza, drawing an unusually wide range of tones from the alto saxophone across a catalog of more than ten records for Silkheart, Skycap and Innova.
