Giuseppe Paradiso is a drummer and composer from Santeramo in Colle in southern Italy who moved to Boston in 2008 and named his band Meridian 71 after the line of longitude running through the city. The project crosses jazz and improvised music with Mediterranean and West African playing. He has three albums as a leader - Otherness Collection, Metropolitan Sketches and Parallel Dimensions on the UK's Ubuntu Music - and has been a voting member of the Recording Academy since 2021.
