Gillian Welch and David Rawlings are modern masters of American folk and roots music, performing as a duo for over twenty-five years. Their stark, timeless sound — built on interlocking acoustic guitar and two voices that NPR calls a harmony blend "no-one else can achieve" — has earned them Grammy recognition, including a Best Folk Album Grammy for their 2024 album Woodland. Celebrated by Rolling Stone and the New York Times as "protectors of the American folk song," they perform and record at their own Woodland Sound Studios in Nashville.
