Gail Ann Dorsey is an American bassist and vocalist with a distinguished career spanning decades of session work and collaboration. She is best known for her long association with David Bowie, serving as his touring bassist and occasional vocal foil — most memorably performing "Under Pressure" live in Bowie's place. Her broad discography includes work with Bryan Ferry, Boy George, the Indigo Girls, Tears for Fears, Gwen Stefani, and Charlie Watts, among many others. She has also released three solo albums: The Corporate World (1988), Rude Blue (1992), and I Used to Be.
