Francisco Mela is a Cuban jazz drummer, percussionist and composer and a leading figure in contemporary jazz. He has played and recorded with Joe Lovano and McCoy Tyner and worked with John Scofield, Esperanza Spalding and Paquito D'Rivera. He has released five albums as a leader.
