Laszlo Gardony is a Hungarian-born jazz pianist and composer who came to Boston in 1983 on a full scholarship to Berklee, where he became the first student in the school's history to be offered a teaching post on graduation and is now a full professor of piano. He won first prize at the Great American Jazz Piano Competition in 1987 and has recorded a long run of albums for Sunnyside with his working trio of bassist John Lockwood and drummer Yoron Israel.
