Eliane Elias is a Brazilian jazz pianist, singer and composer from Sao Paulo. She moved to New York in 1981, joined Steps Ahead, and has since built a long solo career fusing Brazilian rhythm - bossa nova above all - with post-bop piano, winning multiple Grammy Awards along the way. This program marks the centennial of Antonio Carlos Jobim.
