Dashboard Confessional, the project of singer-songwriter Chris Carrabba, became the defining voice of early-2000s emo with achingly sincere acoustic confessionals and arena-ready anthems. Albums like The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most and A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar produced generation-defining tracks like "Screaming Infidelities" and "Vindicated," making Carrabba an unlikely MTV star and one of emo's most enduring figures.
