Colonel Starr are a Concord, Massachusetts band who play story driven indie folk, long on narrative detail and swinging between loud emotional peaks and quiet acoustic turns. Rio D sings, with Teddy Beamer on guitar and piano and Alicia Benavides on bass and harmony vocals. The songwriting takes after The Mountain Goats and the Cuban songwriter Silvio Rodriguez, which puts the words out front.
