The Chandler Travis Philharmonic is a 9-piece ensemble from Boston and Cape Cod that has been described as purveyors of "alternative dixieland" and "omnipop" — a genre-bending mix of horn-driven arrangements, vocal harmonies, and quirky pop songwriting led by guitarist and vocalist Chandler Travis. Born at the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge in 1996, the band features upright bass, keyboards, mandocello, accordion, a three-piece horn section known as the June Trailer Dancers, and a "singing valet." The Village Voice called them "keenly entertaining" and Travis "a true New England eccentric and a master of daft power pop."
