Canadian Arabic Orchestra has no upcoming Boston-area shows listed. They last played September 19, 2026 at Regent Theatre.
Founded in 2014 by Wafa Al Zaghal and Lamees Audeh, the Canadian Arabic Orchestra grew out of a Toronto-area ensemble into the only orchestra in Canada devoted to classical Arabic music. Based in Mississauga, Ontario, the not-for-profit company builds its programs around the classical Arabic repertoire and the great twentieth-century Arabic songbook, played on an instrumentarium that mixes Arabic and Western instruments — oud, qanun, riq and other percussion alongside violin, cello and piano. Alongside concert work with guest vocalists from across the Arab world, the organization runs education and training programs aimed at keeping the tradition alive for a new generation of Canadian musicians.
