Anthony Gomes is a Toronto-born blues-rock guitarist who came up on B.B. King, Buddy Guy and Stevie Ray Vaughan while earning a master's degree from the University of Toronto with a thesis on race and the blues. He moved to Chicago in the late 1990s to learn from the city's masters and has since released a long run of albums that push the blues toward hard rock. The live show is built on big tone and longer solos than most of his peers risk.
