Alune Wade is a Senegalese bassist, vocalist and composer who fuses Afrobeat, jazz and West African rhythms. He played in the Zawinul Syndicate and has worked with Marcus Miller, Bobby McFerrin and Oumou Sangaré. His New African Orleans project traces the links between West African grooves and New Orleans brass.
