Ak'chamel

Ak'chamel, The Guardian of the Chalice, is a masked duo from Texas whose music sounds like a transmission from a desert cult. They pile chanted processionals, homemade instruments, warped tape and scorched psychedelia into ritual folk that is closer to ceremony than song, and they spent more than a decade putting it out on small cassette labels before Ba Da Bing picked up the catalog. Live, the costumes and the drone do most of the talking.
