A Far Cry is a Grammy-nominated, conductorless chamber orchestra founded in Boston in 2007, led collectively by its musicians (called Criers) who rotate artistic leadership and curate programs inspired by individual curiosities and contemporary events. Named Boston's best classical ensemble by The Improper Bostonian and praised by WBUR as "a refreshing corrective to classical music's rigid hierarchies," the ensemble is known for innovative and unpredictable programming across Jordan Hall and other Boston venues.
